Unani medicine is one of the oldest healthcare systems of the world, came to India from Greece (Yūnān) through Arab and Iran, developed scientifically to great heights and earned wide public acceptance in this country.  The Government of India has been providing increasing patronage and funds for multifaceted development of Unani System of Medicine as well as other Indian System of Medicine. As a result, education, research, and healthcare in Unani System of Medicine have been developed considerably in the country. Unani System of Medicine enjoys a respectable position in our national healthcare delivery system along with other indigenous healthcare system. All these systems including Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homoepathy (AYUSH) are officially recognized by Government of India, and practiced throughout India in public, private and voluntary organizations.
