Hakim Mohd Afsahul Kalam did his BUMS in 2006 from Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College and MD in Ilmul Advia on the topic “Evaluation of Anticonvulsant activity of Aqer Qerha (Anacyclus pyrethrum DC. Root) in Animal Model” from National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in 2011. He has research experience from NIUM, Bangalore, RRIUM Kolkata and RRIUM Srinagar, Kashmir University. He joined Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine on 24th June 2015 at RRIUM Kolkata as Research Officer (Unani)- Scientist-I and was transferred to RRIUM Srinagar, where he joined as R.O. (U) with additional charge of lecturer Ilmul Advia on 15th December 2016. Presently 8 MD thesis have been submitted under his supervision and co-supervision. He also completed 2 clinical research projects as PI, and presently involved in 4 clinical research projects (PI-2, Co-PI-2). He is teaching Pharmacognosy and Ilmul Advia Mufrada and guiding in-vivo, in-vitro and clinical studies to MD scholars of department of Ilmul Advia and Moalajat of RRIUM, Srinagar. He is in-charge of Pharmacognosy Laboratory section, Rajbhasha Hindi section and Mobile Health and School Health Programme allotted from CCRUM at Srinagar. He has completed Swasthya Rakshan Parikshan Programm of Ministry of AYUSH and conducted various programs like Poshan Abhiyan Jan Andolan, Poshan Pakhwada etc. His interests of research are-anticonvulsant, wound healing, nephroprotective effects in in-vivo and anticancer, anticoagulant, coagulant activities of medicinal plants in in-vitro.

    1. a.      UG teaching experience (3 ½ years): Assistant Professor, Department of Ilmul Advia, Al-Farooque Unani Medical College, Devi Ahilya Bai University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, since 8th December 2011-8th June 2015.
    2. b.      PG teaching Experience: Assistant Professor, Department of Ilmul Advia, Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Kashmir University, Srinagar, J&K. since 15th December 2016-Till date.
