Dr Shameem Ahmad completed his bachelor’s degree in Unani Medicine from the University of Calcutta in the year 2002. He did his Masters M.D Moalajat from National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka) in the year 2011. He has worked in the Institute of Asian Medical Sciences, Zakura as lecturer and as Reader in the department of Moalajat from Ist February 2005 to Ist December 2013. He was also the Deputy medical Superintendent of the motherland hospital of the college. He then worked as medical officer (RBSK) National Health Mission, Department of Health J&K from 14 Dec. 2013 to 09 Dec. 2016. Then on 10th of December he joined Post Graduate Section of Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Srinagar as Reader in the Department of Moalajat. Apart from academic involvement he is the member board of P.G studies in Unani Medicine, Coordinator Peripheral Pharmacovigilance centre at RRIUM, Srinagar. Many research papers have been published in National as well as International Journals of repute. His area of interest in teaching is clinical subjects with Unani concepts. In research his field is clinical research and evaluation of Unani formulations in challenging health problems. Some of the journals of repute in which his research papers have been published are; Asian Journal of Urology, International Journal of advances in Medicine, International Journal of Unani and Integrative medicine, Journal of herbal medicine, Scholars International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine, Asian Journal of medical and Clinical Research, Ancient Science of life etc
