Day 6 | Valedictory Function | SIX-DAY CME PROGRAMME FOR THE TEACHERS OF ILAJ BIL TADBIR - 08th-13th September 2025 at RRIUM Srinagar

The valedictory function of the Six-Day Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme on Ilaj-bil-Tadbir for Teachers was held at the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, from 8th to 13th September 2025, under the aegis of the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM).




The dignitaries present on the dais included Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General, CCRUM (online mode); Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar; Prof. Mubashir Masoodi, Director, Kupwara Satellite Campus, University of Kashmir; and Dr. Javaid Ahmad Wani, District Ayush Officer, Anantnag.
Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar, in her welcome address, highlighted that this CME was distinctive in its design, aimed specifically at teachers of Unani Medicine. She emphasized that the programme not only revisited the fundamentals of Ilaj-bil-Tadbir but also strengthened clinical and pedagogical skills through structured academic sessions, hands-on training, and live demonstrations. She observed that the initiative successfully combined traditional wisdom with modern scientific perspectives, thereby equipping teachers with deeper clinical understanding, standardized methodologies, and the confidence to guide the next generation of Unani physicians.
Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General, CCRUM, in his valedictory address congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the programme and appreciated the efforts of the organizers for conducting it in a well-structured and impactful manner. He reiterated the importance of Ilaj-bil-Tadbir as a holistic, non-invasive therapeutic approach in Unani Medicine and emphasized the growing relevance of such interventions in the present healthcare landscape. He further stated that the progress of Traditional medicine rests on five essential mantras: innovation, collaboration, integration, publication, and commercialization. By adhering to these principles, Unani Medicine can strengthen its scientific foundation, expand its global reach, and achieve sustainable growth. He also acknowledged the contributions of resource persons for sharing their expertise and commended the enthusiasm and collaborative spirit of the participants, which made the programme academically vibrant. At the conclusion of his address, Dr. Zaheer Ahmed extended his congratulations to Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar, and her team for their tireless efforts in making the programme successful.
On this occasion, mementoes and certificates of appreciation were distributed among the participants and organizers in recognition of their contributions.
The function concluded with the concluding remarks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Arsheed Iqbal, Principal and Research Officer (Unani), RRIUM Srinagar, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, participants, and the organizing team for their support and cooperation in making the CME a success.
