During the programme, Prof. Shamim Ahmad from the Department of Moalajat and Dr. Mohd Akram Laeeque, Research Officer (Unani), actively participated by counselling patients individually. They explained the importance of the rational use of antimicrobial drugs, adherence to prescribed treatment, and the need to avoid self-medication.
As part of the awareness activity, AMR informational pamphlets were distributed among patients and their attendants. The pamphlets were distributed by PG scholars Dr. Qurratul Ain, Dr. Mansha, and Dr. Hera Tasnim, who also explained key messages related to AMR prevention and safe medication practices.
Approximately 105 patients and their attendants benefited from this awareness programme. The initiative helped spread awareness about antimicrobial resistance and emphasized the importance of responsible antibiotic use in preventing the growing threat of drug-resistant infections.
