As per the directions of ministry of Ayush, RRIUM Srinagar organised several camps at district Srinagar and Ganderbal and the drug was distributed on large scale with the guidelines on diet and lifestyle in general public under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.About 15000 +1000 boxes were distributed from 4.9.2021 to 6-9-2021.
Earlier in September 2021, the advisory was issued by the Ministry of Ayush to support the efforts of all as a measure towards enhancing immunity. According to Ministry of AYUSH, the body’s natural defence system plays an important role in maintaining optimum health. In this view ministry of AYUSH launched programme namely Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav , in which it was advised to distribute khamira marwareed to the general public especially the person who are above the age of 60 and front line workers for affordable practices that can be adopted for enhancing immunity and preventing any diseases.
The aim of the programme was to provide khamira Marwareed 5 grams twice a day to the general public. In this view RRIUM Srinagar organised health camps in different areas of the valley. The program was comprised of:
Health lectures and Daily tips on Immunity enhancement delivered by doctors of RRIUM Srinagar in OPD patients. And distribution of khameera marwareed in OPD. Various organisations were involved in this programme as instructed by the council.
As the part of ministry of Ayush campaign Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav @75 RRIUM Srinagar Distributed pamphlets based on diet and life style guidelines and Khameera Marwareed were distributed.
(A WhatsApp group was created by headquarter. In which RRIUM Srinagar was included group as RRIUM representative (Nodal officers).
Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Srinagar also conducted “Farmers Meet and Distribution of Medicinal Plant Saplings” in collaboration with Directorate of ISM (AYUSH), J & K Medicinal Plant Board at Directorate of AYUSH Office, Bemina Srinagar (J & K) to celebrate “AYUSH APKE DWAR” under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Programme on 30.08.2021. Apart from dignitaries from different fields, more than 100 farmers from different districts of J & K participated in the programme.
The programme was e-inaugurated by Dr.Mohan Singh, Director AYUSH, J & K and Chief Executive Officer J&K Medical Plant Board. He informed the audience about different programmes of Medicinal Plant Board.
Sh.Tariq Ahmad Butt, Research Officer (Botany),RRIUM, Srinagar gave field demonstrations and short term training to the farmers in the herbal garden in the premises of Directorate of ISM (AYUSH) , Bemina Srinagar in two Batches. He provided farmers with useful information regarding the crop selection in different habitats and the agro-techniques to be adopted for different crops. The farmers were also provided information about high value, rare and threatened medicinal plants growing in Kashmir Himalayas.
Dr.Waheed, Technical officer J & K Medicinal Plants Board provided details on the cultivation Schemes of National Medicinal Plants Board.
The Programme concluded with distribution of seeds and saplings of some high value medicinal plants among farmers produced by the SMP Unit of RRIUM, Srinagar and J & K Medicinal Plants Board.
