Awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance by Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar

On 16th July 2026, the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, organized a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme at the AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre, LAR Ganderbal, for patients, doctors, and paramedic staff.




During the programme, Dr Iqra Rifat, JRF (Pharmacovigilance), highlighted the importance of reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), explained the reporting procedures, and emphasized the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety. Participants were encouraged to promptly report any adverse effects associated with AYUSH medications.
Dr Asma Siddiqui, Medical Officer, delivered a brief and informative session on adverse drug reactions, focusing on the safe and rational use of AYUSH medicines. Dr Mushtaq, medical officer, highlighted common causes and warning signs of ADRs and emphasized the importance of early identification and timely reporting to strengthen patient safety and improve treatment outcomes.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and engagement from all attendees.
