Awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance RRIUM, Srinagar
On 24th February 2026, the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar organized a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme among the villagers of Chinar in Ganderbal district.
During the programme, Dr. Sumera Mehfooz Research Associate(U), explained the aims and objectives of the Pharmacovigilance Programme and emphasized the importance of reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). She also elaborated on the procedure for reporting ADRs and educated the participants about the significance of drug safety monitoring. Dr. Arjumand Shah, Research Officer(U), encouraged patients to promptly inform their respective physicians if they experience any adverse drug reactions associated with AYUSH medications and highlighted the role of patients in ensuring safe use of medicines.
A total of 55 people attended the programme. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material related to pharmacovigilance and ADR reporting was distributed among the participants to enhance awareness and promote patient safety.
