Seminar on the Eve of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas Organized by Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Srinagar

In celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Srinagar, organized a seminar at Kangan village district Ganderbal.



The seminar dedicated to providing healthcare support to the tribal community and spreading awareness about the benefits of Unani medicine. This event highlighted India's rich tradition of natural healing and honored the contributions of tribal communities to cultural heritage.

The seminar was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Arsheed Iqbal (I/C TSP Programme) and Dr. Sumera Mehfooz (RA, TSP), supported by PG scholars and other staff members of the TSP programme.
The event was marked by active participation from various key figures, including Junaid Ahmad Rather (Constituency President), Ghulam Hassan Rather (District President), Nazir Ahmad Raina (Sarpanch), and several esteemed members from the medical and local community.


Key Activities Conducted:

? Free Medical Consultation:
Specialists from the institute conducted health check-ups and consultations, ensuring that tribal individuals with limited healthcare access received proper medical guidance and essential treatments.

? Awareness Sessions:
Interactive educational sessions were organized to educate the tribal population about preventive healthcare practices and the effectiveness of Unani medicine in managing common ailments.

? Gift Distribution:
As part of the celebration, the institute distributed health kits, medicinal herbs, and other essential items to support the well-being of the attendees.

This initiative reinforced the institute's commitment to improving healthcare accessibility for tribal communities while promoting traditional Unani healing practices.
