Awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance by Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar
On 11th May 2026, the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, organized a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme at the AYUSH Centre, District Hospital Ganderbal, for patients, doctors, and paramedic staff.
During the programme, Dr. Iqra Rifat, JRF Pharmacovigilance, highlighted the importance of reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), explained the ADR reporting procedures, and emphasized the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety. Participants were encouraged to promptly report any adverse effects associated with AYUSH medications.
Dr. Abrar Wani, Medical Officer (Unani), and Dr. Khalida, Medical Officer (Homeopathy), also delivered informative sessions on adverse drug reactions and the risks associated with self-medication.
A total of 85 patients, 2 AYUSH doctors, and 3 paramedic staff attended the programme. IEC materials related to pharmacovigilance were distributed among the participants to enhance awareness.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from all attendees.
