In a run up to World Environment Day, RRIUM Srinagar conducted a lecture programme in Avicenna Auditorium of the Institute on 27th May, 2024 (Monday). A lecture was delivered by Dr. Anees Ahmad (RA Botany) and highlighted the World Environment Day is crucial in driving the land restoration agenda forward. By raising awareness, engaging communities, advocating for policies and promoting collaboration. It plays a key role in restoring degraded lands and ensuring a sustainable future. He was also emphasized the safety parameters like analysis of heavy metals, pesticide residues, microbial load, and aflatoxins as per the UPI format is directly linked to environmental biosafety.
Dr. Huma (RO Unani), Dr. Arjumand (RO Unani) and Dr. Sheeraz (RO Unani) chaired the session.
Dr. Urooj (RO Pharmacology) delivered welcome and concluding remarks.
