As part of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025 celebrations, the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar organized a One-Day Seminar cum Workshop on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” on 13th June 2025.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of eminent dignitaries including Dr. Irfat Ara (Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar), Dr. Zeenat (Block Medical Officer, SDH Hazratbal), and Prof. G. A. Ishaq (Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir), who presided over the occasion and shared valuable insights on the holistic role of yoga in public health.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome address delivered by Dr. Arsheed Iqbal, Research Officer (Unani), who extended warm greetings to all the dignitaries and participants.
Distinguished invitees from the Government Unani Medical College (GUMC), Institute of Asian Medical Sciences, and Sub District Hospital Hazratbal also marked their presence, adding depth and interdisciplinary significance to the event.
The seminar featured two insightful lectures delivered by expert yoga trainers, who elaborated on the science, philosophy, and therapeutic potential of yoga in enhancing both mental and physical well-being.
Following the lectures, a live yoga session was conducted in the serene garden of RRIUM Srinagar, where participants actively engaged in guided practices. The session highlighted the relevance of yoga in daily life and encouraged its adoption for sustainable health and holistic harmony.
The programme was attended by MD scholars and staff members of RRIUM, Srinagar. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar, who expressed sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, guest speakers, trainers, and participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions in making the programme a meaningful success.
