On 21st May 2026, the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine organized a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme at the AYUSH Unit Murindarbang for patients, doctors, and paramedic staff.
During the programme, Dr. Iqra Rifat, JRF Pharmacovigilance, highlighted the importance of reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), explained the reporting procedures, and emphasized the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety. Participants were encouraged to promptly report any adverse effects related to AYUSH medications.
Dr. Aneela Hamdani, Medical Officer, delivered an informative session on adverse drug reactions, focusing on the safe and rational use of AYUSH medicines. She explained the common causes and warning signs of ADRs and stressed the importance of early identification and timely reporting to improve patient safety and treatment outcomes.
A total of 50 patients, 1 AYUSH doctor, and 3 paramedic staff members attended the programme. IEC materials on pharmacovigilance were distributed among the participants to enhance awareness.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from all attendees.
