The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, organized the inauguration of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) on 18th August 2025 at the Avicenna Auditorium. The event marked a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurial skills, innovation, and capacity building among scholars and students of Unani medicine.
The programme was graced by Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar, and Dr. Arsheed Iqbal, Principal of the Institute, who presided over the inaugural session.
The proceedings commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr. Irfat Ara, wherein she highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the healthcare sector and emphasized the role of the EDC in nurturing talent, promoting self-reliance, and creating opportunities for young professionals.
This was followed by a guest lecture delivered by Mr. Aamir Shafi, Faculty, EDI Pampore, who deliberated on the scope of entrepreneurship in today’s dynamic environment and shared valuable insights into the various initiatives of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in promoting startups and innovative ventures. This was followed by 2 presentations given by Dr. Shiraz, Research officer (Unani) and Dr. Kalam, Research Officer (Unani).
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shiraz, who acknowledged the contributions of dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, and participants for making the event successful.
The ceremony witnessed active participation from students of Asian College, Kashmir Tibia College, postgraduate scholars, and faculty members of RRIUM Srinagar.
