A special health camp was organized today by the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, at Akhal Kangan village in District Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. The camp was conducted with the objective of promoting health awareness and providing accessible Unani medical services to the tribal population of the area..
During the programme, Dr. Rameesa Rashid, Research Officer (Unani), conducted clinical consultations and provided Unani treatment to the patients attending the camp. She also delivered an informative awareness session highlighting the role of Unani medicine in promoting healthy living, disease prevention, and holistic well-being.
Dr. Mohd Akram Laeeque (Unani) actively participated in the health camp by conducting clinical consultations and offering therapeutic guidance based on Unani principles, with particular emphasis on addressing the health concerns of geriatric patients.
Dr. Hira, PG Scholar, also participated in the camp and was responsible for assessing and recording the Body Mass Index (BMI) of the patients
A total of approximately 462 patients were consulted during the camp. The programme witnessed encouraging participation from the local community and served as an effective platform for enhancing health awareness, improving access to Unani healthcare services, and strengthening outreach initiatives among the rural and tribal population
