An awareness program on the Studentship Program for Unani Research (SPUR) was successfully conducted on 24th October 2024 at the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) in Srinagar.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director of RRIUM, Srinagar, setting a positive tone for the day.
The highlight of the program included informative PowerPoint presentations delivered by Hakim Mohd Afsahul Kalam, Research Officer (U) and nodal officer for SPUR, along with Dr. Mohammad Sheeraz, Research Officer (U). These presentations offered valuable insights into the current trends and opportunities in Unani research, enriching the attendees' understanding of the subject.
The event saw active participation from 30 final-year B.U.M.S. students from Kashmir Tibbia College, Shilvat, and Asian Medical College, Zakura. The students engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on activities, enhancing their research skills and knowledge of innovative practices in the field of Unani medicine.
In addition to the presentations, the program featured a guided tour of key facilities at RRIUM, including the herbal garden, animal house, Drug and Safety Research Unit, and the Ilaj bil Tadbir section. This provided the students with practical exposure to various research avenues and opportunities within the field of Unani medicine.
The program proved to be an enriching experience, fostering enthusiasm and a deeper understanding of Unani research among the participants.
