Awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance by Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar
On 29th April 2026, the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine organized a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme at the AYUSH Centre of District Hospital Pulwama for patients, doctors, and paramedic staff.
During the programme, Dr. Iqra Rifat, JRF Pharmacovigilance, highlighted the importance of reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), explained the reporting procedures, and emphasized the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety. Participants were encouraged to promptly report any adverse effects related to AYUSH medications.
Dr. Altaf Ahmed Shah, Medical Officer, also delivered an informative session on adverse drug reactions and shared examples, including the banned drug Badnashakht.
A total of 80 patients, 2 AYUSH doctors, and 5 paramedic staff attended the programme. IEC materials on pharmacovigilance were distributed to enhance awareness.
