Awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance of ASU & H drugs for BUMS students on 26th November 2024 at the Government Unani Medical College, Ganderbal by RRIUM Srinagar
The Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) at the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, NABH and NABL accredited, organized a significant awareness program on the Pharmacovigilance of ASU & H drugs for BUMS students on 26th November 2024 at the Government Unani Medical College, Ganderbal.
The program featured a detailed lecture by Dr. Arjumand Shah, Research Officer, emphasizing the importance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety and promoting the rational use of medicines. Dr. Asiyah ul Eram, Associate Professor in the Department of Ilmul Advia, contributed valuable insights regarding the management of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs).
Following this, Dr. Iqra Rifat, MD Ilmul Advia, JRF (U), delivered an engaging presentation titled "ASU & H Drugs and their Adverse Effects." Her lecture delved into:
- The history and importance of pharmacovigilance in Ayush systems.
- Common adverse effects associated with ASU & H drugs.
Dr. Iqra Rifat further conducted a hands-on training session on filling out the ADR Reporting Form, equipping participants with the practical skills required for accurate ADR documentation.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation, with nearly 80 students actively engaging in the sessions. IEC materials were distributed to enhance their understanding and reinforce the importance of pharmacovigilance.
This initiative underscores the commitment of RRIUM Srinagar and PPvC to improving drug safety and fostering awareness among future practitioners in the Unani medical system.
