Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Srinagar organized an awareness programme on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in District Ganderbal with the objective of enhancing public awareness regarding the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance and the need for the responsible use of medicines.
During the programme, Dr Sumera Mehfooz, Research Associate (Unani), delivered an informative session on the causes, consequences, and prevention of AMR. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, adopting healthy practices to prevent infections, and avoiding the unnecessary use of antibiotics. The programme witnessed active participation from the local community, and a total of 56 patients attended and benefited from the awareness and consultation services provided.
