Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Programmes | Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar

The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar organized Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Programmes at its OPD and at Chiner Village, District Ganderbal (under TSP).




At the RRIUM OPD, Dr. Suheena Khanday (RO Unani), Dr. Basharat (TO Unani), and Dr. Mohd Akram Laeeque (RO Unani) educated patients and attendants about the risks of AMR and rational drug use. Around 200 participants attended. AMR pamphlets were distributed by PG scholars Dr. Saima and Dr. Hera Tasnim.
At Chiner Village, Ganderbal, Dr. Sumera Mehfooz (Research Associate, Unani) raised awareness about the dangers of self-medication, examined and treated patients, and distributed Unani medicines. A total of 48 patients benefited.
Conclusion: The programmes effectively promoted awareness on AMR and responsible use of medicines among the public.
